Under the current laws, during the term of the patent validity its owner shall make annual payments for the patent’s maintanance. Otherwise the patent loses its validity and the patent-holder, consequently, loses the exclusive rights granted under the patent.
The state fee for the patent maintenance shall be paid by the patent holder or his authorized representative within two months prior the next year of the patent maintenance. The patent validity term is calculated from the date of filing of the patent application, each year respectively. The first patent maintanance payment shall be made together with the payment of fee for the issue of patent.
